Latest version: 39
changes since v35:
changed 20111120 (beta39)
+ (security) Small security fix (I've gotten a new version of the SDK from the developer, and have built the app using that new sdk instead.)
changed 20110918 (beta38)
+ (problem) changed previous "wifi on/off" when using "disable when not on ac" so that it only checks when a charger is connected/disconnected, and restores initial wifi status if it's not allowed to run.
changed 20110918 (beta37)
+ (problem) WiFi will not be switched on/off (by this app, but you can control it via androids wireless settings) if "disable when not on ac" is selected.
+ (problem) Small bugfix in previous SDK - to try and fix the large db issue.
changed 20110917 (beta36)
+ (problem) Attempting to fix the problem that I just added a warning for in v35.
(I've gotten a new version of the SDK from the developer, with some extra "safety measures" and some logging, and have built the app using that new sdk instead.)

Release notes
Intro:
If the GPS icon is not green you will not collect any data. Go outside, click menu-> start and leave the phone somewhere with a clear view of as much of the sky as possible, and it WILL turn green in a few minutes. Your job is to try and keep this icon green, NCED will take care of the rest.
This tool is based on Navizon, and uses the Navizon SDK to collect information about the cell towers and WiFi routers you have around you.
For the official Navizon client (which works very well for collecting data and also has other nice features) and more information about Navizon, see www.navizon.com
The idea is to have something that will enable the GPS and Navizon at regular intervals, collect as much data as possible, and upload the data for you, so that you can just check the status every now and then and claim any rewards you have pending.
This tool attempts to do just that. It also has features to stop collecting data if the battery is too low, to only collect when on AC power, some tricks to collect more data than the official client is able to do and it's 100% focused on collecting data, it doesn't do anything else and can not be used to track your friends or update your buddy status.
It is possible to run both the official Navizon client and NCED at the same time if you want to.
If you do not have a data plan, enable "Work Offline" in the settings, and NCED should not generate any internet traffic. It is much more convenient to have an always available internet connection, so if you have a data plan it is highly recommended to use it.
This tool is written in my spare time, because I wanted to learn Java/Android programming, and it is NOT an official Navizon product.
If you want to be notified about new versions, send me an email and I'll add you to the list.
